For Jesus said, “Let the children come to me and do not hinder them; for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.”
Matthew 19:14
Growing Our Kids in the Love of Jesus
At Desert Skies, we believe every child is a precious gift from God—uniquely created, deeply loved, and an important part of God’s family. We want every child who walks through our doors to feel welcomed, accepted, valued, and loved for exactly who God created them to be. During our 9:00am worship service, children are always welcome to worship alongside their families. We also offer Sunday School classes where children can learn about Jesus and discover God’s love in a safe, fun, caring, and age-appropriate environment surrounded by friends and caring adults.
We believe faith grows through relationships, and that includes the relationships between our children, their families, and our entire church family. That’s why we encourage families to experience all that Desert Skies has to offer beyond Sunday morning worship. Throughout the year, families can enjoy opportunities such as Wednesday Night Dinners in the fall and spring, Ice Cream Socials, Trunk or Treat, Vacation Bible School, Music Camp, Western Sunday, and other Family Life events.
At Desert Skies, we’re growing our kids in the love of Jesus—one child, one family, and one relationship at a time.
Children’s Sunday School
Begin your Sunday morning by worshiping together as a family at our 9:00am service. Around 9:15am, children are invited to head to their Sunday School classes, where they can learn, connect, and grow in faith with friends. Of course, children are always welcome to remain in worship with their families—whatever works best for your family! Our nursery is also available during all services, providing a safe and welcoming space for our youngest children.
Middle School Ministry
During the school year, our middle school students in 6th–8th grade gather most Sundays, except the first Sunday of each month, for a time of friendship, conversation, and growing in faith. The middle school years bring plenty of changes, questions, and challenges. Having a supportive community and Christian friends can make all the difference. Our goal is to provide a safe and welcoming place where students can be themselves, build meaningful friendships, ask questions, and discover what it means to follow Jesus. Join us Sunday mornings at 9:15am in Room 7!
We are a Safe Sanctuaries Church
At Desert Skies, we understand how important it is for parents to know their children are cared for in a loving, safe, and welcoming environment as they learn about God and grow in faith. To help provide that environment, Desert Skies has adopted a Safe Sanctuaries policy designed to protect children, youth, and vulnerable adults, as well as the volunteers and staff who serve in these ministries. Our Safe Sanctuaries practices include background checks, open-view classrooms, the Rule of Three, and required training for those who work with children, youth, and vulnerable adults. We are committed to creating a ministry environment where every child and family can feel safe, welcomed, and cared for.
